Benefit Fundraiser
This is the 2nd Annual Fundraiser just for our wounded Heroes that will be held in May at the Bass Pro Shop in San Antonio, TX. The event is primarily being held to raise funds for our wounded service men and women. As most of you know quite a few are being treated at BAMC (Brooke Army Medical Center) and many of them will be attending this event. All proceeds will directly benefit these heroes along with their spouse and children. Join us for a fun filled weekend of BBQ, Bands, Fellowship and FUN to raise money for our service men and women.

If you are a combat wounded hero, injured during the Iraq or Afghanistan conflicts, and do not currently have a mortgage, you are eligible to apply!!

St. Thomas Episcopal Youth Ministry invites you to a FREE CONCERT entitled "A Night to Honor Our Veterans," featuring recording artists Soundwave, The Reliques, Lainey Wright, as well as our very own MWSF family member, and home recipient, John Hyland will sing the National Anthem.

The Event hosted on November 12, 2011 at 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with doors open at 5:00 pm, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. Tickets are free, but please bring a home improvement gift card to donate to our wounded veteran!

After the events of 9/11, Sgt. Ricky France Jr felt that he had to do something for his country, and enlisted into the US Army to take the fight to those that attacked us on that fateful day. He had served in the Us Army Reserves previosuly, but this time, things did not work out the same way. On Sept 10, 2003, Ricky was on a convoy returning to Falluja when his vehicle was hit with 7 IEDS daisy chained together causing hyper extension in both knees, Traumatic Brain Injury, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and temporary memory loss.

Jacob Finger joined the Army in 1996 after his twin sister had joined the military, and talked him into joining as well. He was first stationed in Germany where he was deployed to Bosnia and Kosovo, and during his tenure of being stationed in Germany, he rose from the rank from Private to Sergeant. He was the transferred back to the U.S., where he was stationed until after 9/11 when he was deployed to Kuwait, and then into Iraq. It was during this deployment in Iraq, during a routine patrol, when his truck was hit by three 155mm artillery rounds which were buried in the road.

Corporal Warren McCain (retired) joined the United States Marine Corp in June of 2004 because he wanted “more for his family” and to “make it a career”. He served his country for almost six years as a Marine until his honorable discharge in October 2010. He was stationed at Camp Lejeune for his entire period of service and served a tour in Al Anzabar Province, Iraq. On April 17, 2005, while involved in an enemy firefight in Iraq, his legs and left side were riddled with shrapnel resulting from an enemy grenade explosion.

The Military Warriors Support Foundation, with the help of Chase and Home Depot, presented a home to Marine Staff Sergeant Dean Suthard and his family. During his time in Iraq, Suthard sustained a severe back injury that resulted in multiple surgeries that restrict his range of motion and ability to lift. The Suthard family’s 100 percent mortgage free home will be located in Ellenwood, Georgia.
