Corporal Warren McCain (retired) joined the United States Marine Corp in June of 2004 because he wanted “more for his family” and to “make it a career”. He served his country for almost six years as a Marine until his honorable discharge in October 2010. He was stationed at Camp Lejeune for his entire period of service and served a tour in Al Anzabar Province, Iraq. On April 17, 2005, while involved in an enemy firefight in Iraq, his legs and left side were riddled with shrapnel resulting from an enemy grenade explosion.

The Military Warriors Support Foundation, with the help of Chase and Home Depot, presented a home to Marine Staff Sergeant Dean Suthard and his family. During his time in Iraq, Suthard sustained a severe back injury that resulted in multiple surgeries that restrict his range of motion and ability to lift. The Suthard family’s 100 percent mortgage free home will be located in Ellenwood, Georgia.

Thanks to Chase National Bank, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Birdies for the Brave and TPC Deere Run, MWSF presented Sergeant Alex Pracht with a mortgage-free home. Just two years ago he sustained serious injuries in Afghanistan when an IED hit his vehicle. This new home brings hope to Pracht, who is a single father to his eight-month-old daughter.

“I have been budgeting for one [a home], but now I can save for other things, like my daughter’s education,” said Pracht.

It was a warm night in Lawton, Oklahoma, for the Merle Haggard and Miranda Lambert Army Concert Tour. Merle played some of his classics, and then it was time for Miranda. In the middle of her show, she invited some special guests out onto the stage. It was General Sisco, Spc. Jonathan Wheeler (Ret.) and his family. Jonathan was injured on his second mission to Iraq in 2006. As the Wheeler’s were told they were recipients of a 100 percent mortgage-free home in San Antonio, their jaws dropped.
