Research grant and funding opportunities; write and submit grant proposals; coordinate submission packets for RFP’s with agency staff; track all submissions. Manage specific research projects for potential program expansion and growth.
Req’s 2 years experience writing and a proven track record in securing program-related grants. Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written; exceptional grammar, well rounded vocabulary and articulate speech. Strong research skills.
Job Qualifications
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
COMMUNICATION: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively via oral or written means; writing persuasive, detailed grant proposals. Ability to make oral presentations. Ability to communicate appropriately with all levels of individuals. Ability to present a professional and positive demeanor to staff, funders, officials and the general public.
COMPOSURE: Ability to represent the agency and respond professionally in all situations.
COMPUTER: Proficient knowledge of current MS Office Word, Excel, Publisher; Knowledge of DonorPerfect Database software a plus. 60 WPM, 98% accuracy.
ORGANIZATION: Ability to keep various on-going projects organized. Above normal levels of concentration and memory required. Requires good time management practices and the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
TECHNICAL: Knowledge of best practices in grant writing, technical and persuasive writing. Strong internet research skills; knowledge of search engines and tools.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Constant – Ability to communicate with staff, funders and others over the telephone and in person. Constant – Ability to input data into computer, make calculations, complete paperwork, produce reports.
Constant – Ability to review and proofread documents to determine accuracy and necessary support data.
Minimum Requirements:
· Degree in English or Communications preferred
· 2 years exp writing grants for not for profit agencies; proven track record in securing funds · Excellent grammar, vocabulary and speech
· Proficient in MS Office applications & internet research
Job Requirements
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Research funding sources: private foundations, corporations and government agencies. Write and submit grant proposals and RFPs.
Conduct research for new programs, program expansion, demographics, surveys, etc. Analyze results, compile statistics and produce reports.
Maintain detailed records of research conducted, contacts made, grant proposals submitted and awarded, individual giving, etc. Produce accurate and timely reports as requested.
Perform administrative duties in a timely and professional manner:
· Communicate with the Director of Development regarding grant and project status · Respond to email and phone messages
· Maintain all files in an organized manner
