MWSF Executive Director Ken Eakes announced October 28th that a MWSF key goal for the Foundation in the coming year will be to host get away programs for various retreat locations throughout Texas and in some cases nationally for injured warriors and spouses. Ken stated, "We believe that the whole family healing is a key component to individual warrior healing and we intend to face these problems head on through providing continued opportunities for families to spend time together. Along with the time spent together we intend to provide communication to the families about programs that can provide hope and the monetary means necessary to sustain themselves during tough economic times such as jobs! Other programs we will offer will be programs such as family counseling, career development and others based on individual need. In some cases MWSF will be able to provide services in other cases it’s finding another resource, either way we intend to see the job gets done. We want to ensure any family that needs time away for healing can do so through contacting us within a reasonable time frame. In cases where they need to be scheduled for an event some weeks down the road we will provide transition services in the interim."
