The Host a family program pilot is off and running as of October 15th with the inception meeting at the warriors housing village! Partnering with a coalition of Operation Home front Village, MWSF staff and Community Bible Church many families are now partnered with other families to help meet the practical needs of transitioning into what is in many cases is a new community and new challenges faced after injury in combat. Families will be helped in practical individual ways such as: how to find a job, childcare, sharing in a get away weekend, and others. Although there is a formal application and question the program is designed to spend time with others to find out the practical needs of "what the family needs" not what we think they need. Then in many cases, if the host family is not able to provide the need directly, they can act as a liaison and stand in the gap to help locate the resource needed through the MWSF an its network.
