The injured warriors, families, OHV and the MWSF where on hand for a very special day of Rodeo, food and day long family activities. A huge special thanks to Hank Wilson and Marble Falls Rodeo Association. Many of the families attending are receiving treatment at Brooks Army Medical Center (BAMC) and living at Operation Homefront Villages (OHV). The following e-mail was received from OHV. I just wanted to thank all of you for thinking about our soldiers and their families here at Operation Homefront Village and inviting them out to the rodeo. It really has been the talk of Operation Homefront Village all week... word has definitely spread about how much fun it was!
We have one child who has been really angry and depressed since his dad was deployed and came back injured and with PTSD. We have just put the child in counseling but he doesn’t ever seem to smile or be happy about anything. Well, that definitely changed when Dewayne’s son, Wyatt took him with him to do the calf scramble and he won $5. Wyatt then gave him the t-shirt he received and gave it to the little boy without anyone asking him to do it and from what the parents are telling me the little boy has slept in that t-shirt every single night and hasn’t stopped talking about the rodeo, calf scramble or Wyatt all week!!! I am not exaggerating when I tell you that this event really did “transform” this kid and I just want to thank all of you for this. He actually has his counseling session in my office today and I can’t wait to see what the counselor’s reaction will be!

But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. -- Isaiah 40:31
