The evening of July July 17th was a very special evening for many of the families that have been injured in the Iraq Afghanistan conflict! The Military Warriors Support Foundation (MWSF) and Operation Homefront Villages (OHV) teamed up to begin programs in order to assist the residents of the Housing Villages in the San Antonio area with the various needs that they may have—COST FREE.
The Village has been a needed resource for injured warriors and their families that need housing assistance after being injured in the war. The MWSF was on hand to offer residents assistance in the areas of Counseling, Jobs, Training and Development, and Financial Planning. The MWSF also will be implementing the latest program addition at the Village, Host a Family in which injured warriors families will be partnered with a local family that will facilate helping the families with many types of needs they have. Lt. (ret) General Sisco was on hand to greet and visit with the families of OHV. The point leaders for the various programs were able to speak and answer questions about services the Foundation provides. After the programs were explained the residents had a chance to mingle, eat and socialize while listening to the live music of Dennis Wilson, a national writing and recording star who was on hand to encourage the families and perform several songs including his recently released national hit, "Castles in the Sand".
