Where to Donate a Car

It’s spring-cleaning time, and you decide to tackle the old barn out back. Once inside, you quickly remember why you haven’t cleaned it out sooner. It’s overwhelming! Over the years, you have collected old tractors, used cars, motorcycles, and even boats, and all of them are still there. Some of them run, and some don’t. You’re left with the question of what to do with all of them. You are about to buy a new car and realize you would really like to donate your trade-in. You have an older car that just had a fender-bender, and you don’t want to sink any more money into it; what should you do in these situations? But the better question is, “What non-profit organizations take vehicle donations and car donations?” Donating could just be the answer. Sometimes it makes sense to sell or trade in a vehicle, but sometimes it doesn’t work, it’s old, it’s just sitting in your yard taking up space, it’s wrecked, or your trade-in-value isn’t high enough; these are all great reasons to donate a car. Also, donating a vehicle to a non-profit is a great tax benefit.

A car donation not only provides a tax benefit but also greatly helps the organization. Unwanted vehicle donations are an easy way for you to help support our nation’s combat-wounded veterans. Military Warriors Support Foundation is an IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit charity founded by LTG Leroy Sisco (Ret) in 2007. Through their vehicle-donation program, Vehicles4Heroes, they accept donated cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, boats, ATVs, and even RVs. These tax-deductible donations can be in any condition---working, to undrivable; Vehicles4Heroes welcomes them all. The money generated from these donated vehicles goes directly into the programs Military Warriors Support Foundation offers. 95 cents of every dollar goes to their programs, so you can have peace of mind knowing your charitable contribution is directly going to help our veterans.

Military Warriors Support Foundation is a reputable organization that has been serving our combat-wounded veterans and Gold Star spouses for over 16 years. In that time, they have awarded nearly 1,000 mortgage-free homes in all 50 states, helped families collectively pay off over $26.6 million in personal debt,  provided recreational outings and peer-to-peer mentorship through hunting, fishing, and golfing adventures, and have  awarded over 150 payment-free vehicles.

The donation process is simple and hassle-free; just fill out the online donation form (https://vehicles.militarywarriors.org/), and our partners at Flexco Fleet Services will contact you to arrange all the details, including the free pick-up. Typically, you will receive a call within three business days to start the donation process. Military Warriors Support Foundation and Flexco Fleet Services handle the process, from arranging the vehicle pick-up to managing the title transfer. Even if the car isn’t working, Flexco can provide towing.

Once the donated vehicle is sold at auction, a donation letter with an IRS donation receipt is sent to the donor to make claiming the tax deduction on your tax return easy. The sale price at auction will be the IRS donation amount on the tax-deductible receipt. This is a great way to not only have a tax-deductible donation but to also help our nation’s Heroes. This vehicle-donation program is available nationwide, and it’s easy to navigate. https://vehicles.militarywarriors.org/

Our nation’s heroes have given so much for our freedom, and Military Warriors Support Foundation is committed to honoring and serving the men and women that have sacrificed so much. Car donations and other donated vehicles help the organization generate money that goes directly back into the programs that provide support to combat-wounded veterans and Gold-Star families.

Here is a list of the types of vehicles Vehicles4Heroes accepts: cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, ATVs, tractors, SUVs, and RVs. Again, don’t let the condition deter your donation. Military Warriors Support Foundation will accept vehicles in great condition, wrecked, or undrivable.

So, give your unused vehicle a purpose and help us serve the heroes who served for us.
